The Unwanted Undead Adventurer
望まぬ不死の冒険者
While exploring a labyrinth, Rentt Faina, an adventurer with lots of experience but little to show for it, is killed by a dragon upon discovering its lair. Shockingly, he wakes up to find himself turned into a skeleton, the lowest class of undead monsters. As Rentt fights against the other monsters of the labyrinth, he discovers that slaying them gains him experience towards higher stages of undead evolution—even ones with flesh! With this revelation in hand, Rentt obtains a new objective in his undeath: keep evolving in the hope of eventually becoming a vampire, the highest form of undead that is nearly indistinguishable from human beings. Despite being forced to hide his past identity and monstrous nature under an unremovable mask, Rentt manages to return to a semblance of his former life. Granted shelter by Lorraine Vivier, an elite researcher and retired adventurer, Rentt assumes her surname and starts over from scratch as a rookie. Determined to pursue his childhood dream and become a mithril-class adventurer, Rentt must be cautious not to disclose his new bodily circumstances, lest the adventurers’ guild seek to exterminate the monster he has become. I really enjoyed this show, but it's worth noting going in that it's not got a set plot, to speak of. It's more of a slice of life with earnest storytelling, well told. As I say I enjoyed it for what it was but if you need a set plot and arc this probably isn't for you. For what it's worth the characters are excellent and well rounded, though the show centrally revolves around the protagonist and his adventures/internal dialogue. This is a serious show with good writing and storytelling that kept me absorbed. I appreciated the slice-of-life drama style too.

I’ll keep this short: The best part of the this show is the first four episodes. It’s actually pretty interesting, the art is well done, and there’s some creative concepts that haven’t really been touched by any other fantasy. After that though, it becomes insanely boring and filler. You can’t have a show where the premise is based on a unique set of circumstances that the MC has to deal with then completely dissolve any tensions or plot elements around them by the fourth episode. Every single episode after this point becomes the most generic and more importantly boring Isekai slop. Enjoy the first four or five episodesthen drop this.

Just came here to laugh at all the reviews talking about the anime feeling like a filler arc. People who complain about "filler arcs" in a show that isn't shonen to begin with should probably stop watching trash and fix their taste in shows. This is a proper fantasy anime that tells its own story. It doesn't care about shoveling action down your gullet in order to cater to the people who can't watch a tiktok without Subway Surfer on below it. It focuses on the story and characters. It has some action, but only as much as needed for the story. The characters actlike actual people and not cardboard cutouts being used to push along someone's revenge fantasy.

If you are looking for a dead man turned into a skeleton then this is the right anime for you. I swear i’ve read the manga version a few years ago and im surprised it comes from a light novel The story is kinda unique since its rare for an mc turned into a skeleton then turned into something more than a skeleton( i havent watch any skeleton anime besides Overlord so forgive me) I like the art style, my eyes likes it and it fits with the story so far anyways, im glad i get to watch this and cant wait for season 2, definitely 9/10 cuz ofthe ‘Plot’

This is technically a calming slice of life type action fantasy anime. The character and surrounding people are developed well. There are fights at intervals. The concept is familiar yet unique. The screenplay has some depth and it keeps you interested. Watch it when you want a chill anime. Adventuring and its risks are well explained. One good part - No extremely annoying character which has now become a common trait. This makes the anime so peaceful. This is a good anime. Neither great nor bad. Just enough to make you enjoy but neither adrenaline raising nor trashy nor slow. Just decent..
