I might have only watched like 3 chinese animated shows but all of them have been straight bangers when it comes to comedy. Like this isn't as good as The Daily Life of The Immortal King. But there's something about these show's particular brand of humor that I really like. It also doesn't have any heavy fan service which some might think is bad but I think that's a good thing. The writing itself is decent when it comes to comedy and it was pretty good if you just look at the first like 12 episodes. But the "extra" ones just felt slow and all over theplace when it came to pacing and writing. The music absolutely slapped by the way, the voice actors were good enough, though it's a comedy so it's not like the bar is that high. The emotional moments were decent but the story was a bit convoluted, but eventually you do kind of get it. It has good characters but I'd say there's only a few characters that are actually fleshed out well. The MC is fine, and I like Cheng and Liu. Xiaolan and Su are a bit underdeveloped in charachter and the doggo was decent first but a bit too weird later. The Antagonist was just uninteresting. The "OP Future Rival" though seemed cool and interesting, the lightning guy was decent as well but they just kind of threw him away after that defenitly gonna be a permanent side character it feels like. So funny overall, they kind of killed their own momentum at the end there. It's a funny watch though. So I don't regret watching it.

War God System - I'm Counting on You! is a series where An Lin, a modern day teenager chances upon a mysterious figure who transfers him to a world of cultivation and martial arts. An Lin is granted the God of War system which is an assistant that helps him adapt to the new world; An Lin's goal is that of a cultivation freak now that the God of War system has granted him a nearly impossible quest to become top 50 within the first year students at his Martial Arts academy. As a modern teenager with no cultivation base, can he compete with theyoungest prodigies of his generation or will he succumb to his fate and receive the punishment from the God of War system? Story & Characters: 6/10 War God System is a parody series that takes a hit at the modern way of life and the Jianghu with its witty comedy and unfiltered characters. The story is linear and doesn't hesitate to move forward into the unknown without finishing the current arc; Literally, new arcs don't contribute directly to the plot but become a device to introduce a new set of characters and objectives. As a result, it suffers from poor pacing and underdeveloped characters; sister Xiaolan and senior sister Liu are an example of underdeveloped characters who suffer the more the series progresses. They are either used when it's time for comical effect or when there is a party-related quest/event that occurs within the Academy. As a parody, I expect a stagnant plot and premise but War God System tries to intertwine a poorly manufactured story in the latter half of the series as if trying to set a subpar plot build up for the finale. Art & Sound:5/10 The art style is synonymous with your typical modern day anime but has some more distinctive features compared to Japanese series such as its transition between scenes, overexaggerated character emotions and backgrounds. It is passable in art and animation although it does feel lower budget when compared to other series in the same niche (Konosuba) Sound is also typical of your modern day anime although this series makes use of a lot of quirky sound fx and music choices to increase its comedic appeal. The voice acting takes time to adapt especially during fast dialogue sequences, however it is on par with quality from typical comedy anime. Overall & Enjoyment: 6/10 War God System is a funny anime most of the time. And when it's not, it still makes for good meme potential with the character dialogue. Beyond that, there are obvious flaws and downsides when it comes to story, character and pacing but it does well to stay relevant and interesting by not dwelling on a single event or arc for too long.

this is your run of the mill power fantasy set in the world of wuxia cultivations. the story is very simple and if you are familiar with the world of wuxia cultivation you can understand most of the world building. if you never heard of wuxia cultivations then you might get confused with the way the world works. the best thing about this anime/donghua is the fluid animation and very stylistic fight scenes, i can always believe in donghua to produce great action choreography they are sometimes better than anime fight scene. martial art although kinda ridiculous in real world makes for a fantastic piecewhen it comes to the fantasy world. unfortunately everything else is just too plain and uninteresting, the characters are kinda boring and undeveloped through out the series, the world although interesting is too much of a mess to be good. the story is really the weakest thing when it come to this donghua. the story is just basic, all the plot development comes and goes and none of them is actually interesting. overall, the battle choreography really did carried the weight of this otherwise boring and plain story to the point where it is watchable. i wished they gives us more action scene instead of meaningless dialouges throughout the series. 4.8/10

I didn't mind how the animation sometimes feelt like a very well made motion comic. I actually found it fascinating. But I don't like action comedies (and even less Chinese ones). I also am not a fan of the "system" trope, and that f... "ding-dong" of system messages all the f... time just felt like a nuisance to me. And apart for a few interesting ideas I wasn't particularly impressed by the plot. What I liked: - the way this story places itself as some kind of variant of the infamous urban cultivation genre by using the isekai trope. And as an isekai this is refreshing, regardless of the quality. -no loli, and close to no fanservice - no "how dare you!" bs, unlike 90% of cultivation stories. - no exaggerated Xianxia stuff (if you know Xianxia, you know what I mean) - the music was really interesting, alternating western classical music and some discrete modern electronic music, and applying the principle of "less is more". - I appreciated how later on in the season they explained the origin of his system (which is rarely done in similar stories), and how this explanation also expanded the lore, effectively serving as turning point for the second phase of the story. What I disliked: - I like Urban Cultivation as a genre, despite how most stories are a low quality clone of the already controversial "Rebirth of the Urban Immortal Cultivator". And I hoped for some scenes of cultivation in modern world, but it didn't happen. - there's a certain silliness to it, which is a turn-off for me. The whole thing of the flower on his head for instance was sooo stupid. - the second phase wasn't well implemented and it wasn't nearly as engaging as it could have been, apart for a few scenes like the one with the lone female cultivator and her spiritual drawings (which felt almost like an entirely different story for its beautifully spacious atmosphere, the minimal use of music, the higher quality animation, and the convincing lore). Overall I felt that this new part of the plot was so bland that I wouldn't want to watch a second season at all. If I leave my tastes aside, I'd say that there's a reasonable chance that people who like action comedies and are not allergic to the cultivation trope might find this somehow unique donghua fairly entertaining. I didn't feel like I had wasted my time watching it.
