The third was a great season for the series. The main problem I have for the series is the fact that some of the events were omitted or switched around for plot support. The reactions of some characters were out of place. Although, if you can overlook that, Season 3 was great. Can't wait for the final season. The art style was very consistent from season to season. The battles and events of the labyrinths were detailed. I thoroughly enjoyed the season and I am waiting for the news of the final season. I think the true fireworks of this series will be delievered tous in the final season.

I thought I'd never have to read a Light Novel, but with the conclusion of this third season i've been forced into change. We've got another decent season but it's impossible to hide the wealth of material they have stripped away. It is now imperative, for any true fans of the series, to dive the source material (LN, as the manga is just worse than the anime). I have made it my rule to never read light novels but i break that promise for the first time with this show, it's far too great a burden to leave the questions of this season unanswered. What's there tolove about this show? Guns juxtaposed with magic in a unique system. Very careful attention to detail with character abilities and their consistency. These ablities are utiliized effectively to overcome a myriad of obstacles and monsters. A pleathora of expressive fantasy designs and races. A suprisingly pleasant mouth-watering harem with the main duo oozing with charisma whilst being completely impossible to dislike. This show commandingly dwarfs many of the newer isekai/fantasy, they just get most things right, the writer actually knows what they're doing. The dialogue is great most of the times, when it's not, it's intentionally cringe and it achieves that effect. They don't lose sight of the general goal of the series and the MC is a shining beacon of hope taking centre stage. They know how to be funny, they know how to be serious and it rarely overlaps. There's a rugged ruthlessness, a good sense of hierrachy and deference and a no-nonsense attitude to war and fighting in general. This season as some of the reviews described a "harem season" i disagree. It certainly was a little different as it decided to focus more on the character interarctions betwen the main group whilst speeding through the plot. They gave us an ample selection of challenges to test the strengh of their bonds, trust and their convictions as they speedrun the labyrinths. Whilst i would like to say they did enough, I would betray my true feelings as i'm sitting here drooling, abject begging for more. More dialogue, more origin stories, more consequential tense fights and strangely, more politics. The reason i scored this one lower than the previous season is just the sheer amount of stuff skipped over or lacking effect. Dialogue is unfinished, hurriedly moving to the next scene, whilst i could just sit through hours of talking. It's not an issue of the story-telling but the anime direction. It really is a skill for a director to carefully read through the source, plan and enact the events as close to the original as possible while bringing to the forefront the more photogenic sequences. Whilst it was a somewhat plausible effort seems like we could have had almost double the episodes here or at least 24 episodes. I've seen complaints about fanservice but it's so tame here, nothing to worry about and if we make the mistake of comparing it to the LN we are in utter derision i'm afraid. It seems the wails and cries about the CG were heard there's dramatically less CG and as a result we have dramatically less exciting fights. Thanks guys! The fights were amongst the weakest part of this installment far more stiff, lacking so much effect and weight in it. The stills looked probably the best we have gotten in the series but in motion it does leave alot to be desired. The level of carnage with the guns and Yue's awesome power just have been toned down completely, consequently, the visual spectacle struggled live up to previous expectations. What about the sound? Yeah great as always, incredibly replayable soundtrack and when the atmospheric tracks kick in it really does give you the goosebumps. OPs and ED were good, but they're not sitting in my best track playlists like S1 and S2. How about the conclusion of this third season? Ahh yes in typical Arifureta fashion at the end of episode 16 you press the next button and are left in total despondency. The finale feels like it could have been slotted in after the 8th episode, Studio "asread" isn't great at that. Final Rankings. Art and Animation 7 (Stills are great, motion is average) Sound 8 Story 6 (too much cut content, skips etc) Characters 8 Enjoyment 8 (Was surprised how much i still enjoyed this show despite it's issues) 37/40 - 7.4/10 - 7/10 If you're starving for some exposition and need closure on the numerous adventures of this show, you might aswell join me on "the Light side" (Light Novels). Do not start from volume 7! You will be immeditely confused, I reccommend you go the tough but rewarding road from the beginning. Unfortunately it might probably take you weeks to months to finish but from what i've started reading it's worth it. I hope Asread, mother and whichever amalgamation of studios they go for the next season will just slow it all down and give us as much content as possible. I just can't get bored whilst watching this show i hope i'm not alone. Hope this helps.

Binged the entire season. Literally waited until all of the eps were released, not an easy thing. Patience is NOT always rewarded... Characters: just as fun as the first two seasons with some added harem-esque additions (no spoilers there) Plot:.... abysmal and disappointing and bad and other adjectives. It is a repetitive bs plot that basically retells the same thing from each character's POV each episode.... BORING AF!!! Literally fell asleep around ep7.... FFS who wrote this??? Had to force myself to finish it because I loved the first 2 seasons... end of report. Cannot divulge/expunge enough verbiage and adjectivesto expound this statement. Supremely, utterly, totally, completely, absolutely, finitely, DISAPPOINTED.

Arifureta Season 1 was one of the first handful of reviews I wrote on MAL and I gave it a 6/10, noting how the story and characters were good, but the art and animation were extremely poor compared to other shows - especially the god-awful CGI. I haven't reviewed Season 2 (yet), but I will say here that I do believe everything about it was an improvement over Season 1. As for Season 3... The art and animation are yet again poor. For a supposedly popular anime that has a lot of fight scenes, the quality of the animation is just generally very low, being on thelevel of some of the generic slop we keep getting multiple times a year. It's sad, as I believe Arifureta could be so much more. The Story of Season 3 seems to cover several arcs, with the first part of the season covering Shea and the Haulias rebelling against a country that persecutes them, while the second half is the whole group conquering another dungeon. I cannot say much more without delving into spoiler territory, but this season focusses on "self-discovery" and "coming to terms with oneself", with those concepts being major parts of the second arc. Despite seeing across various discussion boards that this season should cover some really good arcs, a lot of what was portrayed just did not hit the mark on the emotional front for me. Although there was a lot of character development, the ever-lacklustre animation and art quality in Arifureta's anime made it fall flat in a lot of places. As an anime-only, I cannot speak for how things are portrayed in the LN, but Season 3 really upped-the-anti on the whole harem-side of Arifureta as well. Although even as an anime-only, I knew the story had harem elements, it didn't over-shadow the action or the emotional moments in either Season 1 or Season 2 (as much), whereas in Season 3, it seems to be a large part of what's happening. I don't want to spoil anything, but quite a few of the serious moments end up being "OMG, I love Hajime!", or "OMG, I'm so jealous of Hajime!" and it ends up kind of cringe, instead of the emotional character development it was going for. Overall, I can't help but feel as though this season was a major rush-job on behalf of the studio, with only enough effort to meet contractual demands being put in. If Season 4 gets released and it's the same, or worse, I might consider this on the same level as Seven Deadly Sins in terms of poorly handled IPs. The part of me that loves this series wants me to say 6/10, the more critical side of me says it's a 5/10 at best - as I'd much rather re-watch S1 or S2 than re-watch S3. I'll go with 6/10 and Mixed Feelings, which is the same as I gave S1 - Less terrible CGI, but rushed/poorly-adapted story evens it out to about the same.

Arifureta Season 3 — The penultimate calm before the storm that's the midway point towards the climax of the adaptation of its final volumes. It's both good and bad at best (at this point) really... It's safe/tumultuous(?) to say for a few years running now that novelist Ryo Shirakome has had his series being lambasted by the overall planning of its absurdly poor and lacklustre adaptation, that it will still feel the same regardless of how many seasons have gone in the years since it first arrived on the anime scene back in Summer 2019. But with 5 plus years gone by and 2 seasons downthe drain with a 3-year gap in between each of them, does Season 3 at least redeem some of the misconceptions the anime community had for Arifureta as a whole? With the newest season of Arifureta being a rather lengthy 16-episode season, this, at least to me, is a blessing for the series up to this point, because the AniManga industry has, for years, "perfected" the art of compressing LN adaptations, so much so that content can be taken out of context if you never (or don't bother) to read the source material. At least for this case, it's more of being the exception to the rule, that the producers somehow saw the error in their ways and attempted to do some damage control to the series to bring back some of its glory and finally give the people what they want: an honest-to-goodness adaptation of a work that has been heavily criticized in many ways that we could not think that Arifureta would recover from such missteps. But here we are, and at the very least, the redemption arc starts from here onward. Anywho, with Season 3 covering Volumes 7 to 10 of the LN, we're at the midpoint mark heading towards the climax that Ryo Shirakome has been cooking in the process, which is just as you'd expect: the fight between good and evil in this rather large Isekai adventure to save the weak and make them strong, and kill the narcissists who know no better. But instead of going straight to the Final Boss, we take a breather for the training arcs that have been brewing since the very beginning: the rabbitwoman of Shea Haulia, as well as Hajime Nagumo's own classmates in becoming strong as they face the endless labyrinth trials. Tackling Shea's worries is the easiest matter of the two for Hajime and the gang to counter, because it literally involves her entire Haulia Tribe and the postmortem of events that led to their tribe being ousted by their own demihuman group still reeling from the effects of their fight against the humans, and the liberation of redemption that the rabbitmen under Shea's father Cam's leadership are not as useless as they think. Once that is done and dusted, then come the trials of the Great Tree as Hajime and the gang attempt to surpass and overcome their weaknesses and insecurities in order to save those worth Hajime's time to be brought back to Japan. Once again, to survive in the ever-so-unforgivable fantasy world is to never ever underestimate Hajime Nagumo, for his exploits at this stage of the game are now more serious with his non-BS attitude, alongside his harem of Yue, Shea, and Tio, as well as the remainder of the classmates whom he deems are worth at least salvaging and useful to his endeavour of eventually going back to their original world. At least on the end of his classmates with Kaori, hero Koki, and the rest together with him, they've seen the bad and should expect even worse going deeper into the rabbit hole, because anything and everything could smear life or death throes at any time should they ever be even the bit careless. Hajime is not a man who'll spend time needlessly; he has places to go and execute his plans at the soonest because, to him, time is opportunity, and this saying rings true when he has the responsibility for keeping everyone together, safe and sound. He's not the edgy character that we've come to know since the very start, (no) thanks to the barrage of betrayals he's suffered from the get-go, which teaches him to only value the people that see him otherwise...which in turn, earns the affections of not only Yue and Tio in prior seasons, but greatly to much effect for both Shea and Kaori, especially for Season 3 here. I need not re-emphasize the elephant in the room that is the overall production of the series, and even I'm tired at this point to say that asread. will never honour what Arifureta was supposed to be animation-wise, even when support studios like White Fox (for Season 1) and studio MOTHER (for Season 2) were there to help the lacklustre studio achieve a somewhat presentable look to the series, even by the slightest details of mediocre to average animation. If anything, don't ever count on the animation to help elevate the series' climax whenever it comes. The music...is somewhat also another point of uninspiring. Somehow, every season's OST just gets even worse than the last, and at least on the point that Void_Chords always have the time to shine collaborating with MindaRyn for the 2 OPs this season, which are decent songs at best. The EDs, on the other hand, are a whole other story, with DOBERMAN INFINITY's K-pop and iScream's J-pop songs just being plain forgettable at best (though the latter is the better of the 2). Overall, Season 3 is just the stopgap measure right before the very climax of the series to date in terms of Arifureta's adaptation, and I completely understand if the minimalist of efforts are done here just so to push the heavyweight of the tank onto the final leg of its journey, because "it's not (just) how you start, (but) it's how you finish". If (I believe) this is (to be) so, the staff team better be ready to deliver the epic finality to the series and give its all to give Ryo Shirakome's work its much-needed redemption from its horrible start to the polish it woefully deserves for its final season. As of this moment, Arifureta is palpable and no longer the bad apple that it once was in its own infamy, so much so that if you've been wanting to give this series a go, it's still not too late to do so. The wait now lingers upon the final descent...
