Shark'd
Finding her life in the Lost City of Atlantis too boring, friendly but impulsive shark girl Gura Gawr swims to shore in search of fun. However, she soon finds out that she cannot enjoy life on the surface peacefully without clothes. Luckily, the nearby Blue Axolotl Beachwear shop presents Gura with a shark-themed outfit that speaks to her inner child. Thanks to a flier posted for a Hololive Production audition, Gura has since become the internet's most beloved VTuber. But that has never stopped her origin story from being any less lovable than her YouTube antics. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Doumo, Same desu! Hololive EN's 1st Generation Gawr Gura got a special animation! It's a simple little origin story of how an Atlantean made it into Hololive, with other various cameos from other Hololive characters thrown in for the big fans of the company. There's very little voice acting to it, but it still feels natural and tells a simple story without the need for dialogue. Animation: 9/10 There's a couple of still shots along with some top-tier animation, and it captures Gura's personality perfectly. Characters: 10/10 Gura is cute, and the short has a ton of Holomember references if you look closely. Music: 7/10: The soundand music mostly just compliment the animation to make up for the lack of dialogue and to set the tone. Overall a good little project if you enjoy Vtuber culture, be sure to check it out if you're curious.

In this edition of Hololive's takeover of the anime industry, we have a new piece of animation about Gura living her life as a shark in her dreams, until she realizes that she is a part of Hololive, waking up from that dream and jumping onto her computer to start her stream. The quality of this anime is amazing. For a production about a V-Tuber, this has more quality than your average anime. The art is crisp, the animation in some parts is fluid, and the colors are bright and impactful. Gura looks really good in 2D in this anime. Definitely one of the better V-Tuberanime entries out there. There isn't any dialogue, just grunts and noises done by the characters, which I guess fits the anime well as there isn't any need for dialogue since there isn't much of a story going on here. The music is basic, but it fits the setting of the beach well, as well as her waking up from her dream. There are many references to other Hololive members and memes, so keep an eye out for them. Overall, good anime. Worth the 4 minutes it takes to finish it. 7/10

Truly a masterpiece of visual storytelling that breaks the mold and will certainly reverberate through the anime industry as a whole for generations to come. With no dialogue whatsoever, Shark'd tells a story of mystery, humor, and charm through the eyes of a little shark girl. It is layered with metaphors that unpack the VTuber industry as well as how anyone, no matter who they are, as the capacity for great things. The recurring theme of sharks speaks volumes about the power of inspiration and the necessary drive to make it big in such a large and competitive organisation that is HoloLive. The animation is seamlesswith stunning visuals that make the average viewer forget what reality looks like. Each facial expression of the protagonist effortlessly ensured empathy between the watcher and the character, enhanced further by the intricate details and body language portrayed. The music and sound design was made with clear intent and the love for their work is clear as day as each note resonates with the viewer and further enhancing the scenes. The ending song in particular highlights the life and personality of the protagonist in a way that ensures the viewer is left in a joyful and happy mood. The characters play off the protagonists personality in different and meaningful ways which enhances the viewers understanding of the protagonist. Each character has clear motives and reasons for appearance which ensures the plot does not become convoluted as unnecessary characters do not appear. A brilliant move which shares the sentiment of quality over quantity that so many other anime out there ignore. The plot is brilliant, going over every detail to give the character progressive and well-paced growth while expanding on themes of fame and positive lifestyles. Sharp-eyed viewers will be able to analyse the deep and profound meanings behind the myriad of metaphors to be found that will leave anyone a better person after only three minutes. Overall this is definitely the top anime in the past decade. A 10/10 masterpiece of storytelling that I implore everyone to watch.

I love hololive and this animation was just fantastic. I love all the little holo references and I believe some anime references? Love gooba and this was just overall a fun animation with a simple plot. This is supposed to just be a fun little short for hololive fans so there isn't any character building. Gura stays true to her character and it's cool seeing her origin. Gura's voice acting was cute The animation is so fresh and nice Any hololive fan no matter how new you are will love this! If you aren't into vtubers or more specifically hololive you probably won't like this that much though. Can't waitfor more animations for holo EN, the talents I mainly watch. One for Fauna would be amazing.

Okay, I am no stranger to Hololive and its talents. I've reviewed the other two, so I might as well review this one. No TL;DR in this one since this is going to be a short review. Basically a Hololive fan wet dream. The plot is about how Gawr Gura started her streaming career with cameos of some of her streaming friends. No dialogues, just """"cute"""" noises and grunts every now and then. Animation is close to a powerpoint presentation, don't expect anything, but since this is a youtube animation project I deem this acceptable. If you're a Hololive fan, then you will definitely like this.If you aren't, like me, then this won't be of your interest. 5/10, average.
