This is a neat little animation about Sword Art Online. It isn't a trailer for an upcoming season or anything like that but was just used as an introduction video for an event. There is no real story but the animation shows the main characters from SAO in their real lives with the Aincrad castle floating in the sky and shows them putting on the nervegear. The animation is in a very different style from the original anime but it does look good. The music/sound and voice acting are all good too. Overall this is just an animation of the SAO characters without a realstory. If you like SAO you'll probably like this animation but don't expect anything substantial.

Nothing special, it's just there. This short Sword Art Online special basically functions as a "warm-up" for the main story. It quickly shows some characters before they enter the world of Aincrad, serving more as a small contextualization than something truly necessary within the narrative. The idea here is simple: to give a taste of what's to come. And in that, it fulfills its role. It's nice to see certain characters in a more "normal" moment, before everything goes wrong, and there's a certain charm in observing this contrast knowing what will happen later. For those who have already watched the series, it might even spark curiosityor a slight nostalgia. On the other hand, it's hard to ignore how disposable this content is. There's no real character development, no thematic depth, and much less any relevant impact on the larger story of Sword Art Online. Everything happens very quickly, almost superficially, as if it were just a promotional extra (which, deep down, it really is). Furthermore, being so short and direct, it doesn't have enough time to build something memorable. When it ends, the feeling is exactly that: "okay, I saw this... and now it doesn't matter." It doesn't add anything, it doesn't hinder anything, it simply exists. Technically, it follows the series' standard: pleasant visuals, competent animation, and a functional soundtrack. Nothing that stands out, but also nothing that compromises the experience. In the end, it's the kind of content you can watch if you're a huge fan or if you want to consume absolutely everything related to the series. Otherwise, you can skip it without missing anything from the main experience. Summary: it's neither here nor there. A forgettable extra, mildly fun, but totally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Score 5. Nota 5.
