夢中さ、きみに。
To escape from the monotony of his daily life, Jouji Ema likes to count all the cute things he sees. However, this has become a difficult task at his all-boys school, with one exception: his classmate Miyoshi Hayashi. After a random mishap with Hayashi at the sports festival, the boy starts following Ema around asking him if he thinks he is cute. Ema is puzzled by Hayashi's frank yet naive attitude, but he cannot help but be drawn in by his eccentric personality. Meanwhile, Yuuichi Medaka's school year takes a wrong step when he is seated in front of Akira Nikaidou, a gloomy boy rumored to put curses on anyone that crosses his path. Determined to get in Nikaidou's good graces, Medaka tries to befriend him, but to no avail. Just when he is about to admit defeat, he discovers that Nikaidou might not be the bad omen everyone believes he is. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I'm not a fan of the "slice of life" genre. Despite knowing this, I decided to give this anime a shot. And man, am I glad that I did. These 5 episodes were absolutely refreshing, something I'd recommend to friends (I already did)! In the past, whenever I watched an anime with the tag "slice of life", it turned out pretty boring and repetitive, causing me to lose interest easily. But this anime, with its cast made up of unique characters, and each story being portrayed originally- not following the usual highschool anime tropes, stood out. Moreover, the different ways each character viewed highschool lifewas relatable to me, as a highschooler myself. The first 3 eps are centered around Hayashi, a boy who does "weird" things no one else would usually do- like taking pictures of random bits of writings on signs/billboards around the city and posting them online together forming sentences. But personally, I found all his antics, as well as each of the interactions he had with different characters, endearing. The final two episodes were about Nikaidou and Medaka. Nikaidou, a boy who built up walls and created a whole new persona to protect himself after experiencing a certain traumatic experience, and Medaka, your average good-natured chill guy. The way Medaka worked to try and peel the layers off from Nikaidou's cocoon and get him to experience a somewhat normal school life was actually quite funny. All in all, this was definitely an enjoyable anime and not boring in the least. Lastly, I have to say the animation is awesome. Opening and ending soundtracks were catchy too. Overall 8/10. Can't believe that one clip I saw of Medaka passing a paper to Nikaidou behind him and getting a papercut on Instagram got me searching up the anime and watching it lol. At first I thought this was a bl or something but it didn't have any romance sadly, and also confusingly, seeing how the name is "Captivated by you".

I loved the character relationships here! You can tell it's pretty... gay. There were a lot of funny and cute moments too! If you're someone who enjoys watching anime just for the fun of it, then I would recommend this, but if not, I don't think you should check it out. There's no solid plot and is a mix of random tales from not even the same people. I was really hoping to see more of the main character in the first two episodes, but he barely showed up afterwards. Don't get me wrong, I loved the last two episodes since they were so wholesome, but it focused too much on a duo that just randomly came up. I was hoping to at least see more of the main guy at the last two episodes, alongside his other partner, but nothing at all. It was kind of disappointing to end with that, so I am hoping for more in the future maybe? Overall, it was a fun watch too! Just a little bit of silly stuff to brighten your day up somehow.

This was an interesting little anime. I wasn't sure what would happen given Wayama's previous works but I was not disappointed. The characters seemed like kids you'd see in an actual high school. The stuff they got up to sometimes was super weird, but who wasn't super weird in high school? It was a nice short anime though I kind of wish that it had another episode. But the open ended nature of the final episode fit with all the other stories that came before it. If you're looking for a short simple slice of life anime with a bit of humor to it, thenyou might enjoy this. If you want something with a less episodic way of telling a story then you might not like this one.

Just finished it! I would say my overall preface is that it felt pretty cozy to watch. I went into this thinking it was a BL, actually LOL. But being a bromance and about the charm of platonic love made it even more wholesome for me! My favorite two were definitely Medaka and Nikaidou. The development of their friendship was absolutely adorable, and the fact it started out cause Medaka found a old picture of Nikaidou smiling all-cute and wanting to see Nikaidou's smile now, CUTE!!! Like you cannot tell me that he has some kind of crush on Nikaidou but whether or not ifit was romantic, I don't think it'd change anything at all honestly. Because the whole miniseries felt contained in a way where it felt like you'd actually meet these people in high school. I can say that the whole miniseries is perfectly self-contained actually, and usually I prefer for character dynamics with more build up to make sense and have us root for but here it's different, and that's probably because of the tone. The miniseries really goes for storylines about the charm of beginning friendships that can develop into respectful and loving platonic relationships. Which is a mouthful for sure LOL but a lot of the bromances felt that way to me in a super neat way. It felt like re-meeting people that I knew in high school, personally. It's also the comedy being on-par with how campy teenagers can be. It also felt natural like it served the storylines that were happening rather than forcing them in. Every storyline felt consistently written for the tone and humor but still each were engaging in their own way, depending on which characters were interacting with each other. It also helps that they all had memorable personalities too, like Hayashi. I do think however it'd be interesting if the miniseries was a little longer, because they made it very easy to get attached to these characters and I wanted to see more of them, as some of them only appeared for one episode, like Yamade or Matsuya. But it didn't takeaway too much, thankfully-cause it really prioritized what different kind of friendships could look like and it consistently delivered charm that immerses you into every storyline. That said, if this ever gets a second season. I'd love to see it!

I was thinking this feels like (an almost shounen ai version of) Skip and Loafer, then learn that the OP is from the same band. It's exactly bright like a good spring day should feel, the kind of story you want when winding down. This is an anthology slice-of-life shorts with a few connected dots from episode to episode so the results may varied. The last 2 episodes with same leads was definitely a cutest. I like how you never know what to expect next, though it does leave you wanting more. Gives you just enough of that youthful glow~ The animation is sogood and the visuals humour here is amazing. Captivated by You is actually a treasure trope of famous voice actors and they really done a good job here for each quirky personalities.
