Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!
悪食令嬢と狂血公爵
Melphiera Marchalrayd, the daughter of a count, dedicates her time to researching the culinary possibilities of monster meat—a peculiar endeavor started by her late mother. By teaching the people of the Marchalrayd lands to prepare such exotic ingredients, Melphiera hopes to help stave off famine. Unfortunately, her unique tastes and intimate knowledge of monsters have led to her social isolation: few nobles interact with her willingly, disdainfully calling her the "Voracious Villainess." When a monster attack erupts at a royal banquet—where Melphiera has been sent to find a husband—Aristide Rogier du Galbraith, the younger brother of the crown prince, leaps to her aid. Due to his terrifying skill in slaying monsters, Aristide has earned the title of "Blood-Man Duke." Charmed by Melphiera's fearlessness and intriguing culinary prowess, Aristide soon declares his intent to propose. Together, Melphiera and Aristide, high society's most eccentric couple, strive to see beyond the cruel rumors and encourage each other's fascination with monsters and the art of preparing them. nothing burger anime… what was the point? at first, i thought the plot was intriguing since it kinda reminded me of a mix between villainess meets dungeon meshi, but then it kept going nowhere. like why were we flying for fo long? i could not tell you any expanded themes or interesting subplots. i was kinda disappointed and somehow pushed to the end instead of dropping it. i would have liked the romance aspect if it had been expanded upon a little bit more. and the magic and politics could have been so cool… ughhh i’ve seen people say this easily could have been condensed toabout 4-6 episodes and i can’t help but agree. definitely, one of the least interesting shows i have sat through. like i said - nothing burger.

Such potential! But it was wasted on a painfully slow pacing.... It's possible to resume the entire anime in less than 40 words: Noble girl that eats monster meat is saved and proposed to by a Duke - she accepts it and he takes her to his home to introduce her to his people as his fiancée. End of story. Basically it's 12 episodes that could have fit into 4 episodes. To actually be able to be this slow paced, the anime showed us a ton of background information on each character, and spent waaay too much time on trivial scenes. About the overall qualities of the anime:The animation is great, the characters are great, and it has proper character development. There's a balanced amount of supporting characters and plenty of information about the world and monsters that inhabit it. I don't know if there will be a next season, but it would be worthwhile to watch if they fixed the pacing issue and started to develop an actual plot based on the main character's adventures, or the noble's reactions to their marriage, or introduced an actual villain.

Hard to see good fantasy romance these days , hopefully 'pass me monster meat my lady" lived upto it's premise and theme . It literally crossed my expectations. The sub themes like gourmet is well done but unfortunately it's content is less . The fantasy world that this anime describe is pretty harsh , forests crawling with monster which can go mad due to excessive magical energy. I liked the idea of introducing a lot variety of monster. No use of cgi on monster which is a + point for me , fantastic animation, background, landscape, ost etc but op and ed are kinda decent. Alot of side characters are likable even we got some great waifus in anime . Overall i enjoyed the show , affection and feeling of protection that mc show towards his girl is admirable . I won't mind seeing a another season because relationship started to evolve at the ending. 8/10

Dungeon Meshi, shoujo edition. The premise is simple. Girl is Laios from Dungeon Meshi, aka monsters yummy me want eat! She meets a boy, who is your typical shoujo prince, custom made to love the exact thing she's good at. And.... actually that's it. They just love bomb each other as he takes her home and introduces her as his fiancée. There is nothing wrong with the show. It's a pure shoujo that centers around the couple being lovey dovey. It does fail on two accounts however. 1. The monster designs are boring and generic. They are purposely made to look like the bigger and uglierversion of normal animals. Understandable for a cutesy show but still very boring and doesn't sell the fact that eating them is looked down upon when they don't really look like monsters. 2. Cooking part is minimal. How do we cook monster meat? Oh we add some pepper and BBQ it. How do we cook monster fish? Flour and oil for some deep fried fish balls obviously. No herbs no special preparations or technique to bring out the flavor. Just the absolute basic, flavorless dishes. So much so that the secret to make the characters break in sparkles is, and you'll never guess this one, is to squeeze some lemon or a dash of salt on the dish. Genius... Because of this I'm removing a star. A cooking show with no real cooking is boring. The couples love bombing each other on first sight is boring. the artificial obstacles the show places in their way aren't really believable. In otherwords, while there is nothing wrong with the show there is nothing interesting either to keep you invested. I can see it appealing to a young age group though because of the blatant love bombing and nice art but that's about it.

This was enjoyable. Sometimes you need something soft and warm and this is a great option. A fantastic one to binge when you're not feeling well. The world building is interesting and consistent enough to make it feel unique yet grounded. The plot is relatively straightforward with little to no hiccups since every character is more or less nice. The main criticism I have is that the ending was a bit abrupt so I'm hoping there's another season. Although it's not a deal breaker. I started to think of it more as a slice of life in the later half of the season.
