Akikan!: Kan Ippatsu!? Onsen Panic

The OVA is pure fanservice. There is no continuation of plot, and the characters just repeat actions from the series only in different situations. There is little to no point in watching this, unless you're into seeing half-drawn boobs.

The Akikan! OVA takes place right after the events of the first one. That's the first thing I'm going to point out. Since it's comedy, why not add a Hot Spring episode? That's what one might be thinking. I'm not one for fan service so that might explain why the scores are kind of low. I guess here's the break down: Story: 6 Art: 6 Sound: 6 Character: 6Enjoyment: 5 Overall: 6 Typical Hot Spring episode, with the fan service of the girls of the anime. It might just be me, but it was too focused on the fan service. Kakeru barely got any screen time in this episode if any of you are wondering. But it is just is a little extra from the anime, so one might like it if one watched the anime.

Our protagonist, Kakeru, accidentally buys one of these cans and finds himself drawn into a battle between other Akikans. In this particular OVA, the gang ends up at a hot spring resort, where the usual hijinks andecchi shenanigans ensue. The animation in Akikan! is passable, but the characters are mostly one-dimensional and forgettable. The humor is hit-or-miss, with some jokes falling flat and others eliciting a chuckle or two. The ecchi scenes, meanwhile, are more awkward than titillating, with plenty of gratuitous panty shots and breast jiggles. Well, isn't this just an anime that's about as appetizing as a bag of stale potato chips? Overall, I'd give Akikan!: Kan Ippatsu!? Onsen Panic a score of 5.5/10.
