While Nanao continued to age and had a son, she remained young and resorted to wearing another woman's face to dull the pain that the mermaid's flesh had caused to her own. 17 years later, she kidnaps Nanao's 2-year-old son and raises him for 8 years under the lie that he is her own son and his father's past is actually his own, naming him "Nanao" as well.
