Explanation of this ova in relation to the visual novel: (spoilers of this ending and a bit of true ending to be able to understand it) We all know that in the true ending Rin stares as saber disappears (no running from Rin). After a while Saber starts her speech: Basically congratulations, I would have really liked to stay but Shiro has you (it is sooo clear she can be easily convinced, but Rin didn't do anything). In this ending it is also clear Rin is head over heels for Shirou and realises he doesn't care that much for saber. Good ending: Rin runs like berserker tosave saber (it's just a few meters though). Now the big question, Why did Rin saver her? She knows in this ending Shirou would almost die of sorrow if saber goes (this is based on the visual novel. In the true ending the main character just gives love points to Rin while in this good ending Shirou gives them to both Rin and saber. The reason why Rin keeps insisting saber is her familiar and hers would therefore be because: - She doesn't want them to get romantically attached (in the VN she tells them not to flirt), she just wants saber to watch over him (so he doesn't become archer) and support him and make him happy. - Imagine Rin gives saber back. Well, this would be a threesome whether they want it or not. Rin not having a link with saber = having sex with her, the same goes for Shirou. Now, with the link Shirou and Rin can become a couple and mana be supplied constantly without sex. Something quite relevant as well is that Rin either subsconciously or conciously chooses Archer (Shirou) over saber. She asks archer to remain in this world and cries when he doesn't accept. This happens in both the good and true ending in the visual novel, this ova just doesn't repeat that scene (right before the good ending would come archer's scene).Think that if archer had accepted Rin's proposal both the true and happy endings would be the same (Rin - Shirou - Shirou). I do believe in the good ending Rin runs to save saber because of how much Shirou cares for her (at least 4 points given to her). Even so by asking archer to stay afterwards saber would have left this world had archer accepted (there's not enough mana for both of them and Rin knows it. She also knows saber isn't selfish to stay that way, by asking archer she's in a way betraying saber, that's why she thinks "I know I shouldn't ask" (but she does ask...) and archer says "I do not know if you will keep your contract with saber, but I am nor qualified for that"). These sentences are taken from the VN. I hope you anime only guys understand better what happened now. Overall it is a very good OVA. Saber doesn't die, what else in needed? =P

I'm going to make it short. This special episode is an alternative version of epilogue of episode 25 in FSN [UBW] (Good Ending in UBW route of the VN) and must be seen AFTER episode 25 of UBW. There is nothing really to speak on, but if you really like Saber, this is a must-watch. However, unlike ep25, this ending doesn't bring any new additional scenes, it just faithfully adapts Good End from the VN. If you wanted to see it animated, go and watch it. Overall, this special is a good fan-servicey special for Saber fans and a decent snack for all HFwaiters. And it gives us hope that we can actually see Sparks Liner High and Normal End from Heaven's Feel animated, when HF gets released on BD. Since it doesn't bring anything new and I'm not that much fan of Saber and the Good End itself (True End feels much more logical), I rate it 5/10, but it's not to be taken seriously.

*THIS REVIEW CONTAIN SPOILERS* First of, if you're expecting some love-dovey moments of Rin and Shirou then you better throw that expectation in the trash can. The OVA here is only a quick ten minute scene a day(s) after the final battle of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Words. Story: 7/10 The story wasn't bad nor was it exquisite. Personally, I think that this was the best choice route for what happened to Saber. According the Episode 25 of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Words, Saber disappeared after using the 'excalibur' move but in this OVA, the author decided to press ctrl + Z to Saber's disappearance, or in otherwords, a happy ending. Art: 9/10 There has been no change to the art in Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Words and its OVA here. Like usual, the art is clean and delivers the feels of the anime at its finest. Music: 7/10 Unfortunately, there isn't an OP in this OVA but I enjoyed the bgm quite a lot here. It was a calm piece that kept the audience, especially myself, relax as we watch this heart-warming episode. However, that was all there was in the episode. Other than that, the ending was simply a long version of the relax music. Character: 7/10 Since it's just a short 10-minute episode we can't expect much of a character development. The only characters in this episode was Rin, Shirou, and Saber. Although it wasn't much of a grand appearance, but Saber's "un-disappearance" was quite a big impact of the story and pretty much the best part of the character's category. Enjoyment: 7/10 Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Words OVA, Sunny Day made my day with a nice heart-warming episode and left me thinking that they should've just done this in Episode 25 of the original series but oh well, it was good~ Overall: 7/10 In my utmost honest opinion, this OVA wasn't dazzling but it is also not a waste of time either. I would definitely recommend it to all Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Words fans because this will definitely make your day with a nice and warm episode. Hopefully this helped you~

By watching this short little episode that was included in the Blu-Ray package of UBW (2nd Season), I'm going to assume that you have already completed the second season of UBW and you already know the original ending. Don't read this if you don't want to get spoiled. [Story]: (7/10) (SPOILERS) This episode is an alternate ending to the "Unlimited Blade Works" route. It shows an ending where Saber survived and is now alive thanks to Rin and Shirou's mana support. Mostly, the mana comes from Rin but Shirou is also assisting. I personally liked this ending than the original ending. The epilogue episode bored me todeath and I guess I was happy to see Saber alive after Shirou killed Gilgamesh. It doesn't really make sense to see Saber alive after the Holy Grail War because all Servants are supposed to disappear but that's what fanservice is supposed to be. Servicing fans like me who wants to see Saber alive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Art/Animation]: (10/10) The animation is exactly the same as the TV series. It still looked outstanding and nothing changed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Sound]: (9/10) The only new soundtrack I heard in this episode is the credits theme. It's just a nice 3 minutes OST that I have never heard of before. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Character]: (8/10) It's just Shirou, Rin and Saber in this episode. Nothing really happened except some conversation between them and how Saber is going to be kept alive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [OVERALL]: (7.5/10) It's just a 7 minutes alternate ending to the UBW route. If you want to know what happened at the alternate ending then you might want to give this short episode a try. Otherwise, you won't really miss that much by not watching this short episode.

In this review, I assume that you watched "Fate/stay night : Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season" so it may contain spoiler Pros - An alternative ending for those who's not satisfied with the main ending. You can count this episode as "what if" or "in alternative universe" instead of sequel - Heartwarming atmosphere after watching an anime that's full with tears and bloodshed - The duration is not long but it convey the story really good - Background music express the feeling of the character really good Cons - Watch it or not, it doesn't affect the story, but it does affect your feeling - Quite illogical, but it's called "good" ending fora reason
