Birth place: Aichi prefecture Tetsuya Nishio is an animator and character designer. In 2009 he was rewarded the Best Character Design Award at the 8th Tokyo Anime Awards for his outstanding work on Sky Crawlers. Today he is known as one of the "Three Gods of IG" along with Kise Kazuchika and Okiura Hiroyuki. As of 28th August 2020 he serves as director of Production I.G. (Source: ANN, AniDB)
